I have finally lived my dream of going kayaking thanks to Downriver Canoe Company. We hiked from our car up the river on the Bluebell Trail, which took about 2 hours. Then we got in our kayaks and went back down the river for 3 hours. We were able to stop on sand banks and get out and swim along the way! On a Saturday morning the park was practically empty, we didn't see a single other person on the hike, and barely anyone on the river. By the time we docked and headed out the area was full of camping families and people heading out on inflatable tubes.
I'd recommend going out early to beat the crowds and the heat!
Spent the day exploring the riverside wonders of the Historic District. Stay tuned for next week, when we learn if my mug from "Paint Your Heart Out Inc" turned out to be trash. And to the more exciting point, your girl is going kayaking! It's been a long time and I do not have the upper body strength to paddle... but nevertheless I will follow my dreams.
HORSES- The Icelandic horses are quite possibly the sweetest and calmest breed of horses on earth. They are designed for the weather, and you can go on riding tours! The horses are known for their quick pace walk called the tölt.
